SWI2-Ph ScratchedRock
A fascinating object. This hard boulder was stained rusty orange from volcanic rocks before being scraped in an interesting pattern during excavation, and then placed in a wall at Hill Stead Museum in Farmington, CT.

The SWI coordinator has given hundreds of presentations on different aspects of stone walls to different audiences.  All were invited based on referral.   This activity was carried out as part of the mission of the land-grant public university where I work.  However, I’ve not cut back to the occasional in-person talk and zoom talks now and then.

SWI2-Ph CairnHouseSite
Collapsed cairn at Walden Pond marking the site of Henry Thoreau’s former house. Is this management? Or should it be tidied up? What would Henry think?
